Hands in the clay: ceramics in Polizzi Generosa

An encounter with clay, creativity and the artistic traditions of the Madonie, lived by stepping into an artisan's workshop and getting your hands dirty. Guided by a local ceramicist, you discover how earth takes shape through patient gestures, techniques and know-how handed down over time. You visit the family's old kilns, watch the craftsman at the wheel and then each make your own tile, while his storytelling explains the link between ceramics and life in the area. No experience needed: curiosity and a willingness to have a go are enough.

Included: a visit to the old kilns with the story of the techniques of past and present, a demonstration at the potter's wheel, a workshop to make your own tile (clay, tools and firing included), a visit to the showroom with finished pieces and assistance throughout the activity.
